NAWOJ, LAGOS
The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) is a professional body dedicated to promoting the welfare of female journalists and advancing gender equality in media practice.
NAWOJ, Lagos Chapter has been at the forefront of championing the rights of women in journalism, offering professional development opportunities, and fostering a strong network for mentorship and collaboration.
Our membership spans reporters, editors, producers, and media executives in print, broadcast, and digital media across all 36 states of Nigeria.
Beyond the newsroom, NAWOJ serves as a voice for the voiceless—advocating for the greater inclusion of women in politics and governance, campaigning against gender-based violence, and promoting education for girls.
Our mission is simple yet powerful: to build a supportive network for women journalists while driving gender equality in the media.
To promote professional excellence among women journalists.
To advocate for gender equality in media organizations.
To provide mentorship and build the capacity of young female journalists.
To create a supportive network for women in the media.
To promote ethical journalism and media professionalism.
