The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, Lagos State Chapter is led by Jumoke Falayi Johnson known by her peers as "JJ". She assumed office in July 2025. Along with 3 other executive members, she administers the affairs of the largest chapter of women journalists in Nigeria.

~ Jumoke Falayi Johnson, Chairperson
Jumoke Johnson is a broadcast journalist with over 20 years of experience. She currently serves as the Head of the Presentation Unit at Voice of Nigeria, Lagos. Over the course of her career, she has worked across multiple areas of the newsroom, including news, production, studio operations, and editorial desks. She is known for her ability to bring ideas to life through her voice and writing.
Jumoke is an active member of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Lagos Chapter, where she currently serves as Chairperson. She made history as the first female Chair of the NUJ Voice of Nigeria, Lagos Chapel before assuming her present role as Chairperson of NAWOJ Lagos.
She holds a Master’s degree in Communication Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and Nigerian Languages. A strong believer in the power of communication as a tool for world peace, Jumoke is also an advocate for women’s empowerment. Her current focus is ensuring that women journalists are not limited but given equal opportunities and recognition in the field.
Anu Thomas, Secretary
Anu M. Thomas-Ogunyinka is a seasoned Public Affairs practitioner with extensive experience in leveraging mass communication and public relations to drive effective engagement and craft compelling human-interest stories.
As an associate member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and a Mass Communication graduate from the National Open University, Anu has honed her skills through various trainings on effective communications and strategies. She skillfully applies these expertise to deliver results-driven communication solutions.
Currently, she serves as the Secretary of the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists, Lagos Chapter, among other professional roles.
Anu is a devoted wife, mother, and lover of humanity.
